Poor Quality Control 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I ordered an MRX model from Sporty's last week and when I received it, the batteries (one of them) was extremely difficult to put in all the way because the bottom of the flexible metal contact on one side was scraping the bottom of the battery case. After I finally was able to work both batteries in, the unit powered up and ran fine for all of 30 minutes and then just died. At first I thought that maybe there was a power-saving mode after 30 minutes or so when the unit was running in Ground mode, but it would not power back up. Tried another pair of fresh batteries and unit would still not power up.

I contacted Sporty's and their customer service is very good. They are sending me a replacement unit overnight. I'm not impressed with what seems to be very poor quality control on Zaon's part. Shouldn't someone be making sure that you can easily fit both batteries in the compartment and making sure the unit works for more than 30 minutes?

Has anyone else had similar issues?
