Bluetooth Key for XRX BlueLink 4 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I am trying to link the XRX BlueLink (Bluetooth Toggle) to a Motioncomputing LS800 to make it talk to Pocket FMS www.pocketfms.com. I am asked for a ´Main Key´ to be entered in the Motioncomputing LS 800 Windows Dashbord application when establishing the Bluetooth connection.

I can get a link without a key however but I have 2 connections than (incoming on COM 5 and outgoing on COM 7) and the BlueLink is shown to be connected properly but (unlike other connections which work) without a Main Key.

What is the Bluetooth Main Key for the BlueLink device pls.

Thanks, Heinz

For systems that require a key, such as the LS800, try either "0" or "0000" (depends on the type of Bluetooth radio in the system).

yep - ´0´ works. I do get a connection saying ´COM 7 for ingoing, COM 5 for outgoing´ and Key is active. Is that OK?

Will see if PocketFMS can handle that.

Thanks, Heinz

Hi,

went flying today - after a compass and altitude calibration the ZAON on its own worked like advertised. That is great device and I must say if you can afford it get one! I did spot some traffic which I would have spotted only with continous serious scanning all the time. The Zaon directs/focuses you scanning on thre right area very good.

I have set up a Bluetooth connection with the key ("0") to the LS800 re which the LS800 is saying it is OK. Got again a connection saying ´COM 7 for ingoing, COM 5 for outgoing´.

I than activated in PocketFMS (LS800, PFMS w. ´UMPC with Touchscreen and Default buttons template´) under properties/zaon and tried both COM ports one after the other and tried COM 8 as well - no ´ZAON´ text on the screen at all.

Don´t know what to do.

Heinz

Hi again,

I posted the same post with Pocket FMS (fantastic tool - check www.pocketfms.com). Rob of Pocket FMS came back with this: Heinz, we have all the cables/stuff/beer/coffee at hand to evaluate this, so next time you're at EHLE bring your stuff, we have a look at it and see if we can nail that one. I think I know where the problem is : The fatory Bluetooth stack from the LS-800 is from Toshiba, and that one does not listen to *any* port reading timeouts the using application sets, resulting in cPU overload and all kind of nasty stuff. I applied a fix in the GPS interface for that a year or so ago, and included it also "blind" in the ZAO serial interface. Maybe the problem is there, somehow the fix needs tweaking for ZAON using Bluetooth. When you come by, I'm sure we'll fix it. Rob

Will update you than later, Heinz

I have the Anywhere Map Pro (Windows 7) and when Windows 7 was trying to connect up with the bluetooth, I was prompted for the code. I had tried '0000' without success, but had not tried '0', so I ended up using it on its own and not integrated in with Anywhere Map. I had identified the COM port in use, but the bluetooth key code was the blocker. Is 0 the correct code to use?

Thanks!
