We have recently refitted our RV8 panel on the basis that the XRXi would be a remote unit, not requiring panel space. It seems that is a missunderstanding!
We have an antenna located in the fibreglass fin top especially for the Zaon unit, and two moving maps to choose from to send the signal to. So..... can the existing XRX be remotely located and powered up automatically (or switched separately) and fed from the remote antenna in the fin cap, sending the signal to a moving map?

I agree, I would love to have a panel mounted version of the XRX, with external antennae, able to tie into 496, etc. However, if the price point comes in higher than the 330, then I'll go with the 330. I know the limitations of the 330, but where I usually fly, it would work just fine. My hope is that the price point can be south of $3k. My gut feel is that you'd get a stamping hord wanting to buy.
