XRX display error? 3 Years, 2 Months ago

I have been using the XRX to provide traffic directly into my 496. A few days ago, I wanted to show a friend how well it works, so I took the unit, in a standalone configuration, on a flight in his aircraft. He has TIS-B, so it gave us a chance to see how well the XRX performed. It has been some time since I last used the unit with traffic information being displayed on the unit itself. It worked well, with traffic correlation between the two sources approximately the same. However, the XRX heading indicator was displaying a magnetic heading that was almost exactly 180 degrees out of phase. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Ahhhhh .... see my 'bearing error' post. This is what I have seen. Note, I'm not using a 496 but rather a system called TrueMap (www.aviationsafety.com) displayed on a tablet pc. When I look at the XRX screen under certain circumstances, I see a significant bearing error in what is displayed on the pc. When I use just the XRX screen, it seems well aligned to the actual traffic. Been trying to nail the problem down ... with your post, it seems to be a problem with the interface the XRX is communicating to the external display. I'll share this with my software vendor - it may help nail the problem down.
