Can the MRX detect aircraft using mode A? 2 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
A lot of older aircraft in the UK have transponders which transmit on mode A but cannot transmit on mode C (so no alitude information). Am I right in saying the MRX will not detect them?

For what its worth, page 32 of the owner's manual kind of indicates that it will not process targets unless mode C is active.

"Actually, no our unit ignores mode A only transponders, just as ATC currentdoes. Without altitude information there is no way to decide if the targetis a traffic threat or not."
