Screen A vs Screen B - vs third party 4 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 2
Screen A - i haven't been in airspace where i see more than 1 threat at a time, when i have 3 threats depicted, i'll try A again but with 1 threat at a time

Screen B - the combination of data and map is more intuitive. differentiate between primary and 2ndary and even add altitude and trend and you really have a winner.

3rd party - i have a garmin 496 installed but i like the zaon screen too much to use a third party map this small and complex. i will feed output to my big screen blue mountain avionics efis / two.

blue mountain has been receptive to improving their depiction and the 3rd party depiction as well as the size, readability, resolution and complexity all seem like issues.

awesome unit, can't wait till i can panel mount it.

Thanks for the feedback. We will certainly do what we can with Screen B, but the limited pixel space makes primary target differentiation difficult (but possible), and adding altitude just not realistic. The text would be too small. But we'll see what we can do on making the primary target in bold (or something similar).

I agree with the previous writer. SCREEN B is great, mainly because it's so intuitive a depiction.

I fly in a very busy environment (within 7 miles of ORD and near at least 6 other corporate type airports) and I almost always have 3 targets depicted. SCREEN B allows me to take a quick glance and understand immeadiatly the traffic picture around me.

I have previously suggested to ZAON that they should try to figure out a way to make the "primary" target depicted stand out from the other two targets. Since color is not an option my suggestion would be to increase the size of the primary target.

ZAON said that they will look into possiblity of making the primary target appear different from the other targets.

I look forward to that revision and I will be the first to send mine in for that type of enhancement.

Just another thought on the subject of trying to indicate which is the "primary" target when using SCREEN B. If the primary target's icon could not be made larger then perhaps it could be made to rapidly blink on and off while the other two secondary targets would remain solid.

Just an idea, for what it's worth.

I thought some may want to see my installation of the XRX in my Bonanza. I used a small block of black high density foam to support the bottom and used 2 small clear suction cups (hardware store) in each of the two corners that touch the glass. Both suction cups were glued to the XRX with a dab of clear silicone adhesive and when both are suctioned to the glass, hold the XRX firmly in place.

While the XRX is only 3.5" inches from the side post or the front windscreen I don't seem to have any problem picking up traffic targets in most all directions.
