Hello,
I have a Garmin GPSMAP 495 and Zaon XRX that (finally) work beautifully together. Ha, leave it to me to challenge a good relationship, as I am considering the connection to an Electronics International FP-5L found here:
http://www.buy-ei.com/Pages/FP-5/FP-5_Overview.htmlThis unit allows the exchange of fuel to destination, fuel reserve, nautical miles per gallon, and statute miles per gallon information. While functionality is one thing, actually making all the connections is another and the instructions don't cover the Zaon in the mix. I realize that I would have to slice into the current Zaon-Garmin interface cable I have. Until I research this more, I have no idea if the data from the Zaon and Electronics International units will interfere with one another. Has anyone else done this or is simply smarter that I am in forecasting what it would take to get the job done? Is it even possible? Ha, maybe I should just stop while I am ABOVE the power curve!
More microchips than sense,
Dr. Z.
