Why is it so hard to get batteries in this unit also. Compartment is just under the size for the two rechargeable double A's batteries. Is there a reason for this??

I'm wondering the same thing. Zaon should use springs instead of the flexible contacts so that it is much easier to get batteries in and out. You shouldn't need something to pry the batteries out.

We realize it's a tight fit (batteries in the compartment) but it was necessary because of the sometimes heavy vibration experienced by the unit when sitting on top of the dash.
