3D Traffic... An Industry First!

VistaNav is the first moving map system to give true three-dimensional information complete with traffic. A 3D wireframe box represents the traffic information coming from the XRX. The box changes color based on the threat level, from white to yellow to red.

You can also choose a 2D view with traffic represented as blocks positioned on rings around your aircraft. The traffic's relative altitude is also displayed next to the traffic icon. For example, an aircraft 400 feet above would be displayed as +04. The climb or descend trend is also displayed as either an up or down arrow.

Setup Guide

XRX Step-by-Step Setup

  1. To get the best performance, ensure all interface cables are properly connected and XRX is positioned  for maximum detection. See “Placement Considerations” in your XRX Owner’s Manual.
  2. Calibrate your XRX compass. See “Compass Calibration” in your XRX Owner’s Manual.
  3. Use the Com menu to select “fProfile 1” as the output method.

Maximize Detection Window

  1. Using the Alt and Range menus to set detection range to 6NM and altitude to ±2500 feet
  2. Press mute to return to the traffic screen. The screen will only show “Profile 1”, but all menu options will still be available by pressing the menu button again at any time.

VistaNav Setup

  1. Setup is almost completely automatic. With the XRX set up as above and the unit turned on, the VistaNav software will autodetect the unit and start processing traffic information.
When interfacing with a third-party system, XRX will not display any traffic information on the built-in screen, only which COM profile you have selected. This is done to free up processing time for more efficient traffic detection. However, all button functions work as normal, and you can even switch to a COM setting of "NONE" to temporarily see traffic on the XRX.
