Zane D. Hovey
Director of Technology Development

Zane Hovey has technical expertise in the realm of RF and embedded software Electronics, RADAR systems. His background includes prior work on military aircraft working in conjunction with Northrop-Grumman on Naval Aircraft weapons and RADAR systems. Mr. Hovey is also a 1000+ hour commercial Multi-Engine Pilot with previous flight instructor experience. Mr. Hovey directs all technical aspects of avionics electrical engineering system operations with respect to existing products and exploration of new technology.

A Short History

Mr. Hovey invented a portable means of collision avoidance nearly a decade ago and introduced TPAS to the world in 1999 with incredible success, selling over 3000 units in 3 years. TrafficScope, the 3rd generation of affordable, portable collision avoidance, was introduced in 2003, with over 4000 units sold. Today, the third-generation of portable collision avoidance brings cutting-edge technology to the general aviation cockpit in the form of PCAS™.

Many imitators and knock-off products have appeared and disappeared in our history, but Zaon's unique blend of superior customer service, ground-breaking technology and cost-conscious engineering have made all of Zaon's award-winning products second to none.
